Day 2 Jakarta City Tour | Kota Tua, Cathedral, Istiqlal Mosque
Enjoy a guided Jakarta city tour focused on culture and architecture.
We start in Kota Tua, the city’s historic center and a living reminder of its colonial heritage. Dutch influence transformed this area in the 17th century, especially after the Dutch East India Company (VOC) rebuilt it in 1619 as Batavia. As you stroll through the Old Town, you’ll notice European-style canals, spires, arched buildings, and churches. Many original landmarks still stand proudly, such as the Jakarta History Museum (formerly City Hall) and the heritage Post Office.
(Optional – Self-paying) We suggest a stop at the iconic Café Batavia, a century-old treasure with soaring ceilings, warm vintage lighting, and elegant wooden shutters. Its nostalgic charm recreates the atmosphere of 19th-century Batavia.
Next, we continue to the heart of the city to visit two major religious landmarks standing face-to-face as a symbol of harmony and tolerance.
We first explore the Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral, a Neo-Gothic Catholic cathedral completed in 1810. Even after fires and collapses in the past, it remains an important spiritual and historical icon.
Right across is Istiqlal Mosque, the largest mosque in Southeast Asia. Built between 1961 and 1978, it features a striking green dome and a grand worship hall capable of hosting tens of thousands of people.
After the tour, return to your hotel and relax.

Crashing waves, rugged coastlines, and cliff-cut roads create an unforgettable drive toward Bali’s southern tip.
Arrive at the spectacular Uluwatu Cliff—also known as Lover’s Cliff—where towering cliffs drop 70 meters straight into the sea. Perched on the edge is the sacred Uluwatu Temple (Pura Luhur Uluwatu), one of Bali’s most important sea temples.
Walk along the cliff-top pathways and admire sweeping ocean views. As the sun sinks toward the horizon, the sky glows with shades of gold, rose, and crimson—making Uluwatu one of the most magical sunset spots in Bali.
As twilight sets in, take your seat for the mesmerizing Kecak Fire Dance in the temple’s open-air amphitheater. More than 50 sarong-clad performers chant rhythmic “cak-cak-cak” sounds in unison, while dancers reenact dramatic scenes from the Hindu Ramayana legend. Flames, chants, and the radiant sunset sky combine into a truly unforgettable cultural experience.
