Begin your journey Borneo Kalimantan Rainforests and Wildlife Tour upon arrival at Palangkaraya Airport at around 9 a.m. A local guide warmly welcomes you before transferring you directly to the river port. From here, your rainforest discovery cruise begins. Travel by traditional wooden boat through peaceful waterways while watching the jungle unfold around you. With luck, you may spot wild orangutans, hornbills, or long-tailed macaques resting along the riverbanks.
Later in the day, continue downriver toward a remote village. Visit Telaga Village to observe traditional life and local fishing activities. You may also join simple village games or chat with residents who live in harmony with the jungle. At sunset, the boat finds a quiet place to anchor. Fall asleep to the sounds of nature while spending your first night onboard.
Black Water Lakes & Rainforest Lodge Stay

ITINERARY:
Day 1: Palangkaraya – Orangutan Island – Jahanjang – Telaga Village
08.00 AM – Meet your local guide at Tjilik Riwut Airport, Palangkaraya, or at your hotel. Then begin the drive toward Nyaru Menteng.
Continue by canoe to Orangutan Island, where rescued orangutans live in a protected natural setting. Watch from a distance as they move freely through the forest canopy. This ethical visit supports conservation and ensures the animals remain undisturbed.
Next, visit the foundation’s Education Centre to learn about rehabilitation efforts. Enjoy lunch at a local Dayak warung with regional flavours.
In the afternoon, drive about two hours to Jahanjang Port along the Katingan River. Board your traditional river boat and cruise toward Telaga Village. A welcome drink and light snack are served onboard while the rainforest scenery surrounds you.
Upon arrival, walk through Telaga Village. Join friendly games with local residents and explore the village atmosphere. Visit small home industries where villagers process freshwater fish using traditional methods.
As the sun sets, return to the boat. Enjoy the night onboard while resting peacefully on the river.
Day 2: Telaga – Black Water Lakes – Sebangau National Park
