Discover the Hidden Treasures of Tangkoko – 3 Days, 2 Nights Nature Escape

Are you ready to explore Sulawesi’s wild side? Our Sulawesi Tangkoko Overnight Tour takes you deep into the heart of the Tangkoko Nature Reserve for an unforgettable 3-day, 2-night journey. What makes this trip special? You’ll encounter rare wildlife like the tiny tarsier and the curious black macaque as you trek through vibrant forest trails.

With expert guides by your side, you’ll go birdwatching at dawn, listen to the sounds of the jungle at dusk, and enjoy peaceful moments in one of Indonesia’s most biodiverse landscapes. You’ll stay in cozy, nature-friendly accommodations, so you can relax after each adventure-filled day.

This tour is perfect for travelers who love nature, wildlife, and soft adventure. So, why not turn your next holiday into a real-life nature documentary? Tangkoko is waiting!

First Day: (noon)

Transfer by Safari Tours bus or air-conditioned vehicle to the nature reserve. The 2-hour drive to the 9,000-hectare National Park is quite scenic as we pass through small villages. Lunch en route. Upon arrival, immediately check in at your homestay. Clients will then be guided by a local forest ranger and Safari Tours guide in search of the Black Crested Macaque (a black monkey indigenous to North Sulawesi), hornbills, and coucous, as well as other fauna specific to the reserve.

Depending on what time it gets dark, we will head into the denser part of the jungle as the sun is setting, where you will (most likely) be able to get photographs of the Tarsius tarsier (one of the smallest known primates). After it is completely dark and the tarsiers have departed for their nightly foraging, we head back to the homestay for a basic traditional dinner. Overnight.

(Lunch, Dinner)

Second Day: (Starting 04.30 am)

Rising early, we will again hike into the forest with a local ranger, where clients will have the best opportunity to view more birds and certainly, the Black Crested Macaque, as these monkeys are early risers and are searching out food along the coastline at Tangkoko. And then several hours, it’s back to the homestay for a full breakfast and a 1- to 2-hour rest. After finishing lunch, we will head back into the jungle for more opportunities to see the Tarsius tarsier (one of the smallest known primates) and other wildlife in the nature reserve. After it is completely dark and the tarsiers have departed for their nightly foraging, we head back to the homestay for dinner. Overnight at the homestay.

(breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Also included is a mangrove trip by a traditional fishermen’s boat for more birding or sightseeing opportunities (weather and tide dependent).

Three Day (05.00 am)

Rising early is another opportunity (if you choose) to hike into the forest with a local ranger and safari guide. We return to the homestay for a full breakfast and prepare to check out. 10.00: The latest time leaving the homestay to go back to Manado or to the airport to catch the client’s next destination flight

(Breakfast)
